It was fate...
After the success of their first location, Moondog Growlers’ co-owners and spouses Tommy and Felicia Burda always had one answer when asked if they’d consider additional locations, “No!”
But as time passed, and with a nudge from Chamblee’s former mayor, the idea of expanding to this fun, artistic, and dog-loving city began to grow.
The dream took shape in 2023 when a chance discovery of the perfect location changed everything. The spacious spot in Chamblee’s Open Container District was right along a bike and walking path, complete with a semi-secluded parking lot for events. To the Burdas’ dismay, it was also perfect for food service. And so, they did what they said they’d never do: open a second Moondog location, this time as a full-fledged pub and restaurant.
Moondog Pub & Grub opened in November 2024, serving up the craft beer the original location is known and loved for, but this time alongside American pub fare, wine, and spirits.
We think you’ll agree with us that we’re glad they changed their minds!

Tommy and Felicia Burda
Co-owners
Originally from New Jersey and Kentucky, Tommy and Felicia have called Atlanta home since the ‘90s. At their first location, Moondog Growlers, Felicia handles all inquiries, private events, jockey box, and trailer bookings, as well as complaints and compliments. Tommy serves as the official taste tester.
When not working at Moondogs, Tommy can be found running his construction company while Felicia practices law and works for their family companies. Of all their jobs, though, they say Moondogs is the most enjoyable because of the people.
Tommy and Felicia have two daughters, and their love for animals extends from Moondogs to home, where they have four dogs and a lizard. They spend their free time taking family hikes and vacationing in the Georgia mountains.
Joshua Wise
General Manager
Joshua Wise, a Florida native, moved to Atlanta as a young boy with his dad, stepmom, and younger brother. Joshua’s dad, Joel Wise, graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Boston, and Joshua learned to love cooking and creating recipes from a very young age. His first job as a teenager was with a fast-food restaurant, and it’s been onward and upward ever since. His restaurant experience and work ethic have made him an invaluable asset wherever he goes. Joshua’s enthusiasm for helping get Moondog Pub & Grub up and running is almost tangible! From setting up the kitchen to creating the menu and hiring staff, it is a dream job for Joshua and will go a long way towards Moondog’s success!
David Watkins
Assistant General Manager
David Watkins began his career as a United States Marine Corps Intel Specialist. Since his time in the Marines, he has gained over 20 years of experience working in the service industry. A Cicerone-certified beer expert, David is always on the lookout for new and exciting brewery offerings. He is a self-proclaimed “big nerd” with a love for D&D, board games, card games, anime, and going to conventions.
